What I do

Tutoring

I support students and provide strategies that improve performance, grades, and engagement in Language Arts, History, and Humanities. I work with students to enhance and supplement their academic experience across the curriculum.

As a parent and educator, I am aware of the anxiety that a struggling student experiences and the ripple effect on the family. Part of my work as a tutor is to take pressure off parents. I work closely with students who know that I’m on their side.

Test Prep

Test preparation areas include:

•    AP English Literature & Composition

•   AP English Language and Composition

• AP Seminar

• AP United States History (APUSH)

I use the most effective strategies when tackling skill-specific standardized tests. After identifying your student’s areas that need improvement, we target those skills. I guide students so they avoid common pitfalls and traps. Our work together centers on boosting your child’s confidence and strengthening the proficiencies needed for improved academic performance

College Admission Essays

I work alongside your child through all stages of the writing process - from the first brainstorming session through all the drafts and final revisions to finally hitting the send button and celebrating. Not only will this process culminate in a compelling and thoughtful essay that will provide insight not found anywhere else on the college application, but writing it under my guidance will provide the benefits of an intensive essay writing workshop that will always serve your student. Nothing is more satisfying to my students (and me) than when they discover a new idea, choose the perfect word, or turn a phrase precisely how they want it.
