My Students
My students live throughout the U.S. and in three countries. They reside in big cities, suburbs, and rural areas. Each has their learning style, interests, goals, and passions. They play sports, perform in dramatic productions, sing in choirs, play competitive chess, bird-watch, create characters, and do what most teenagers do.
Many take AP, Honors, or IB courses. Some are TAG students, while others have IEPs. Some are neurotypical; others are neurodivergent. They hope to attend Ivy League schools, the universities their parents attended, state schools, or the post-secondary institution that best serves them. One may want to become a screenwriter, another a business entrepreneur, another a cardiologist, another a video game designer.
Each of my students has skills or habits that require some attention and development. Some have struggled through school; some have achieved great success with relative ease. What they all have in common is support from a mentor/coach/teacher whom they know is in their corner and on their team. That’s me. After thirty years with kids in the classroom, on the ball field, and on the river, I still love teaching and guiding young people through the world of ideas and language. Let me help your maturing student enhance their education as they discover new confidence and meaning in their academic lives.
